The Austrian vignette

Yes — you need a vignette to drive on Austrian motorways and expressways. It applies to every vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, including foreign-registered cars, motorhomes and motorcycles. Driving without one risks an on-the-spot substitute toll.

Austria issues a digital vignette, linked to your licence plate. There is no sticker to attach and nothing to collect — enforcement cameras read the plate. That is why the plate you give us has to be exactly right.
